Frequently asked questions
What should we wear for our sessions?
The most important thing is to be comfortable and feel like yourselves! I recommend choosing a color palette with 2-3 coordinating colors and having everyone choose an outfit within that palette. Avoid bright, neon colors, as they can cause a color cast on skin tones. It's also best to stay away from large logos or distracting patterns that can take the focus away from your family's beautiful connection.
Ultimately, your photos will look their best when your outfits feel authentic to you, so choose clothing you can move and play in.
How do we get our kids to cooperate?
Please don't worry about this at all! As a documentary-style photographer, my goal is to capture real life, not perfect poses. I encourage you to let your kids be themselves—run, play, giggle, and even have a moment of quiet rebellion. The beautifully imperfect moments are often the ones we cherish the most.
I am here to capture the tender and silly moments as they happen. I find that when parents relax and engage with their kids, the most authentic and beautiful photos emerge.
Where should we take our photos?
We have so many beautiful options here in Colorado! A session can take place in a location that is meaningful to you, or I can help you find a spot that offers a beautiful backdrop. Some of the best locations are:
- In-Home: This is perfect for capturing your family in your most comfortable and authentic space. It's especially great for capturing intimate moments with newborns and infants.
- A Natural Setting: Places like local parks, open fields, or a mountain trail offer beautiful light and a sense of adventure. We can capture your family exploring and interacting with nature.
We'll work together to choose a location that fits your family's style and the vision for your photos.
How and when will we receive our photos?
Within 2-3 weeks of our session, I will send you a link to a private, online gallery where you can view all of your hand-edited, high-resolution images. You'll be able to download your photos directly from the gallery and share them with family and friends. The gallery also includes a professional print store where you can easily order high-quality prints, albums, and wall art to enjoy your memories for years to come.
